I am involved in Open Streets because I love what it stands for - the collective creation of shared public space which brings people together and contributes to making the places we live feel warm and connected.
I feel Open Streets is more than important, it is essential! We need to have Open Streets every weekend in every community. It is something that will get us outside and back into the public space in way that community members can meet each other, connect and build relationships with our neighbours around something other than consuming, shopping or dealing with crime. It is a form of gentle, positive human engagement :)
