Dr. Lisa Kane

Lisa is an engineer and streets enthusiast particularly interested in the connection between human values and human rights, energy and streets.

Lisa has recently completed her PhD in ?Science and Technology Studies? titled ?Values and valuing in urban road engineering: the case of the ?unfinished? Foreshore Freeway, Cape Town?. Lisa was a co-founder of the Centre for Transport Studies at UCT in 2002 and is an Honorary Research Associate there. She is also a member of the WWF Reference Group for Transport.

Currently she is working for the MAPS International research project with the Energy Research Centre, UCT, which is examining the potential for South African climate change mitigation projects in Latin America.
