Open Streets has the potential to contribute to a number of important changes in our city. It can bring people together across difference - an important step in creating empathy and in creating new social and economic connections that can lead to innovative new enterprises, or new solutions to the challenges associated with urbanisation. Open Streets is a vehicle to interrogate the tactile and technical components of city-making, through the lens of the social and cultural amenity of a particular place.

It is for these reasons that I view Open Streets as an intermediary organisation that uses streets as a platform bringing together local communities. As a believer in the importance of partnering and collective leadership for cities, Open Streets is thus a natural fit for me.

Jodi is a dynamic professional with a range of skills from social work, to statistical socio-economic analysis and project finance structuring, to team management, collaborative leadership and partnership brokering. Jodi's various academic and professional experiences have equipped her with an acute awareness of on the ground social and economic issues, as well as knowledge of institutional structures and processes that can either inhibit or enable transformative solutions to complex societal challenges.

Her particular emphasis on finding whole of society solutions for inclusive urbanisation is relevant to current challenges faced by cities across the globe.
