The idea of being part of an event that is absolutely free to the public, and brings together people from all corners of Cape Town was too amazing to miss. We hear about plans being made to bridge the racial and cultural gap caused by apartheid, and seeing it happen in reality injected motivation in me.

As the city of Cape Town continues to grow economically, it’s very important to allow all Cape Townians to enjoy the fruits of this growth. Sustainable Development is the way to go for Cape Town, where there are benefits for the natural environment and the everyday urban dweller. Open Streets is very important in instilling a sense of community in Cape Townians, and does so in an environmentally-conscious way. Everybody wins!
